Your initial basic information (Name, address, date of birth, telephone number) will be provided to us by a lead provider, however the majority of the information will be collected directly from you.
This will be mainly verbally but may also include postal applications and information sent via email.
We may require to also obtain information about you for the purpose of your application from third parties sources, such a credit reference agencies. At the point this may be required, you will be notified and your consent obtained.
HOW WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION
During the processing of an application on your behalf your information will be stored in a variety of ways to assist us in securing the right product for you.
This includes paper files kept in a locked cabinet, mobile devices and on the secure systems used by us. (Website, Hard Drives, emails, cloud facilities)
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We are a Credit Broker and we work with a selected panel of lenders to allow us to find you the best deal for your circumstances.
To allow us to provide the best service to you, we need to collect and share your information with:
Lenders - Your personal information will need to be provided to the appropriate lender in order for them to assess and make a decision to lend. This may be via their online systems, via email or via paper based application.
Credit Reference Agencies - As part of our initial checks and to ensure we recommend the most suitable product for you, we will conduct a soft credit search. This will not be recorded on your credit file, however when we submit your application to the lender, some lenders may then perform a "Hard" credit search which will be recorded on your credit file. We will obtain your permission prior to this.
Third Parties - there may be occasions whereby we need to share your information with third parties to assist in the processing of your application. This may be your mortgage provider, surveyors/valuers, estate agents, conveyancers where absolutely necessary.
If we feel there are products or services that may be beneficial to you based upon the information you have provided we may contact you in the future to make you aware. You do however have the right to refuse to allow us to contact you in the future and your consent will be obtained prior.
We may contact you via, telephone, letter, email or text message. If you do not wish to be contacted in a particular way, then you may request this at any time.
LEGAL OR REGULATORY
We are required to process your personal information where we have a legal or regulatory obligation to do so, for example, to adhere to anti-money laundering or our regulatory obligations.
If you make a complaint we will use your personal information in order to investigate the complaint effectively.
We have a legal obligation to deal with your complaint appropriately.
OUTSIDE OF THE EEA
We do not share your information outside of the European Economic Area.
RETENTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us and we shall ensure your information is kept secure at all times.
We have taken appropriate measures to ensure the safeguarding of your information from being lost, damaged, destroyed, or being used unlawfully by a third party.
HOW LONG WE WILL RETAIN YOUR INFORMATION
Your Information will be retained either electronically or in paper format for a minimum of six years and possibly for a longer period where this is required to enable our Principal to fulfil his legal and regulatory obligations.
We record all calls for training and monitoring purposes only.
We will retain call recording for a period of 6 years.
